Mission
  We inspire a more meaningful connection to self, each other, and our relationship to the natural world through leadership development, outdoor adventure, and environmental education.

 

Staff

We are proud to have a highly trained and skilled team of staff who are too many to mention here. Our core staff reflects our commitment to hiring professionals in the field of environmental and outdoor adventure education and who are passionate about mentoring others to make their own discoveries.

 

 
 


James created and founded Adventure In Adventure Out in 1996. He is a graduate of Greenfield Community College’s Outdoor Leadership Program and continues his naturalist studies through workshops with The Wilderness Awareness School in Washington. James authored a newspaper column called, The Great Outdoors and then published his own newspaper called, The Outsider. He is the author of a hiking and canoeing guide for The Chicopee River Watershed Council. He is a co-facilitator of Mythic Warrior, a men’s empowerment group. James is the co-director of Organizational Growth Consulting, providing leadership and team building trainings for businesses throughout the United States.

 

  Lenore Anderson- Field Instructor
 


Lenore has over twenty-five years of experience as an environmental educator, counselor, and wilderness instructor. She has a masters degree in Experiential Education from Colorado University. Her work with the Colorado Outward Bound School spanned over seventeen years where she served as a Wilderness Instructor, Course Director and Environmental Director. She is also a graduate of The Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies in Clinical Herbalism. Lenore is the founding director of Natural Vitality where she offers holistic health consultations, empowering workshops and healing retreats.

 

  Frand Grindrod- Field Instructor
 


Frank is a skilled tracker, naturalist and teacher of primitive earth based skills. He is the founder and director of Earthwork programs where he is dedicated to inspiring and teaching people the arts of tracking, fire making, shelter building, primitive crafts, and earth based philosophies. He is a graduate of Greenfield Community College’s Outdoor Leadership Program. He continues his education through studies with Tom Brown, Jon Young, Paul Rezendes and others. Frank is a certified Wilderness First Responder and teaches many forms of Martial Arts.

 

  Chris Poulin- Field Instructor
 
 
 

 

Chris is a Field Instructor for our Outdoor Challenge Camp and Ware Outdoor Adventure afterschool program. He is an Outdoor Educator for Earthwork’s home-schooling programs teaching earth based skills including animal sign and tracking. Chris is a graduate of the Outdoor Leadership Program at Greenfield Community College. He is certified in Wilderness First Responder and has Emergency Medical Training. He has been a sales associate for outdoor equipment stores including Eastern Mountain Sports. Chris enjoys animal tracking, white water canoeing, and rock climbing.
